The 75th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) proudly welcomed 441 cadets, selected from an impressive pool of 30,000 applicants, as announced during the 12th Matriculation ceremony held in Kaduna.
Major General John Ochai, the academy’s Commandant, highlighted the rigorous selection process that resulted in the admission of only 441 cadets, including one from The Gambia, from the extensive pool of 30,000 applicants. General Ochai further detailed the distribution of these cadets across various faculties, with 138 pursuing Arts and Social Sciences, 118 in Science, 37 in Engineering and Technology, 55 in Management Sciences, and 91 in Military Science and Interdisciplinary Studies.
During the ceremony, General Ochai emphasized the importance of discipline throughout the cadets’ training, emphasizing that the academy’s focus is to equip them for national defense and the professional execution of constitutional duties.
In addition, Ahmed Aminu, the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), extended heartfelt congratulations to the Commandant and staff of the academy for consistently producing high-caliber military leaders capable of meeting the defense needs of an independent Nigeria.
