FCT Women Affairs Secretariat’s Mandate Secretary, Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, passionately calls on all Nigerians to actively participate in the Orange the World campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
Emphasizing that the significance of the 16 Days Activism goes beyond a temporal event, Benjamins-Laniyi, alongside Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Barrister Uju Kennedy-Ohaneye, and Senator Ireti Kingibe, led a rally from the Eagles Square to the Unity Fountain, officially commencing the 16 Days of Activism.
In her plea, the mandate secretary underscores the need for a collective commitment to eradicating sexual and gender-based violence.
Further amplifying this call, Barrister Ebere Efendu, President of the Women in Politics Forum (WIPF), adds her voice, urging women across Nigeria not only to stand against sexual and domestic violence but also to unite against the underrepresentation of women in government.
