The National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) has urged Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to initiate an immediate forensic investigation into the failed Nigeria Air project. Ben Nnabue, NUATE’s president, emphasized during the 11th Quadrennial National Delegates’ Conference in Benin that the failure of the Nigerian Air project should not be ignored.
Instead, he advocated for a comprehensive reevaluation and redesign of the National Carrier to align with the country’s interests. Nnabue stressed that the success of the Nigeria Air project is crucial for the advancement of the nation’s aviation sector.
The call for a forensic audit comes after Minister Festus Keyamo suspended the Nigeria Air project amid escalating controversies, which had emerged during the unveiling of the project towards the end of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
