The Presidency has strongly condemned the nationwide strike orchestrated by organized labour.
Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information & Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, characterized the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) as currently experiencing a “season of madness.”
Onanuga accused the NLC and TUC of jeopardizing Nigeria’s economy due to what he termed a “bruised ego.” In a post on X, he expressed astonishment, stating, “It is truly the season of madness in NLC and TUC.”
Onanuga found it unimaginable that these entities would resort to actions that harm the national economy over personal grievances against one individual.
The organized labour initiated an indefinite strike commencing at 12:00 am on Tuesday in response to the assault on NLC President, Joe Ajaero, in Owerri, Imo State, on November 1.
