Tragedy struck on a Tuesday along the Itamaga-Ijede road in Ikorodu, near Lagos, as three individuals lost their lives while one person sustained serious injuries in a harrowing road accident.
According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the incident occurred at approximately 8:05 a.m. and involved a high-speed Toyota Camry colliding with a tricycle.
The speeding car lost control, swerving into oncoming traffic and colliding with the tricycle, resulting in the immediate loss of three lives. Among the victims were an adult and two school children. The injured party, a secondary school student, fell into a coma and had to be urgently transported to a hospital, accompanied by the tricycle rider.
In a disheartening turn of events, the driver of the car chose to flee the scene immediately following the accident, leaving a trail of unanswered questions. (NAN)
