Chelsea Faces Real Madrid in Champions League Opener

Chelsea’s journey in the Champions League will kick off with an away fixture against Real Madrid. The Women’s Super League champions are scheduled to take on last season’s Liga F runners-up on November 15.

This is the second consecutive year that Emma Hayes’ team has been grouped with Real Madrid, having drawn away and claimed a home victory against them last season.

Chelsea progressed to the semi-finals in the 2022-23 season after finishing at the top of their group, while Real Madrid was eliminated from the group stage after finishing third.

Uefa has revealed the dates for the group-stage fixtures, which will be held between November 14 and January 31. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages.

As the only British representatives in this season’s group stage, Chelsea will play their first home match on November 23 against Paris FC, who eliminated Arsenal in the first qualifying round.

Following this, they will face the Swedish club BK Hacken at home on December 14 and away on December 20. Chelsea’s group stage will conclude with a home match against Real Madrid on January 24 and an away fixture against Paris FC on January 30.
