The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has dismissed rumors regarding its alleged plan to raise the price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as Petrol.
There was a noticeable surge in panic buying of Petrol by motorists and other consumers at Petrol Stations in Abuja on a Friday evening.
However, in a brief statement posted on its official and verified social media platforms on the same Friday under the heading “Important Notice,” the state-run oil company reassured the public that there were no intentions to increase PMS pump prices, despite the widespread speculation.
The NNPCL conveyed: “Esteemed customers, we deeply appreciate your patronage at NNPC Retail, and we want to make it clear that we have no plans to raise PMS prices as has been widely rumored.
“We encourage you to continue purchasing the highest-quality products at the most competitive prices offered at our NNPC Retail Stations located across the nation.
