The Military Secretary (Army), Major General Folusho Oyinlola, emphasized the critical role of discipline and character in the career advancement of Nigerian Army (NA) officers.
He conveyed this message during a lecture titled “Career Planning for Nigerian Army Officers,” which took place at the Lieutenant General F Yahaya Badminton Court in Port Harcourt Barracks, Rivers State.
Major General Folusho Oyinlola underscored the importance of this lecture in enhancing the capacity of NA officers to effectively fulfill their responsibilities. He further explained that the lecture aimed to equip officers with valuable insights on how to advance their careers within the NA.
In his welcome address, Major General Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding, 6 Division Nigerian Army/Land Component Commander, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, emphasized the lecture’s significance.
He noted that it was designed to elevate the professionalism and effectiveness of NA officers, ensuring that they meet contemporary professional standards. This, in turn, would lead to the development of the required manpower, increased work efficiency, and ultimately job satisfaction.
The one-day event saw the participation of Brigade Commanders from the manoeuvre 2, 16, and 63 Brigades, along with commanders from 6 Division affiliated formations and units. Officers from various formations and units within the 6 Division Area of Responsibility were also in attendance.
