The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has officially launched the party’s campaign council for the forthcoming Imo State governorship election scheduled for November 11, 2023.
Ganduje highlighted that the choice of Bassey Otu, the governor of Cross River State, by President Bola Tinubu to lead the campaign council underscores the gravity and importance attached to this election by the President.
In his address, Ganduje urged the people of Imo to once again cast their votes in favor of Governor Hope Uzodimma, emphasizing that this decision is crucial for shaping a robust and prosperous future for the state. He encouraged Imo residents to leverage Uzodimma’s widespread goodwill across ethnic lines and his wisdom to secure the state’s future development.
Describing Governor Uzodimma as an affectionate, intelligent, skillful, and cooperative statesman in his dealings with both the President and the APC, Ganduje conveyed President Tinubu’s commitment to doing everything within his power to elevate Imo to the next level.
Governor Uzodimma, in response, expressed his appreciation to Tinubu for granting his approval and acknowledged the unwavering support of the national leadership of the APC, particularly the significant appointments they have bestowed upon the state.
He characterized the APC in Imo as a dynamic movement, not merely a political party, and urged the people of Imo to rally behind the party in the upcoming election, citing the APC’s exceptional readiness as the party to beat.
Governor Otu concurred by reiterating their resounding endorsement of Uzodimma’s reelection and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Imo for their resolute support for the APC in the previous elections.
The inauguration event was graced by the presence of governors from Ebonyi, Francis Nwifuru; Yobe, Mai Mala-Buni; and Katsina, Dikko Umar Radda, alongside ministers and members of the APC National Working Committee.
