Salah misses Penalty but Scores on Rebound, Mac Allister Sees Red as 10 Men Liverpool Defeat Bournemouth 3-1

Salah’s penalty attempt went awry, but he quickly redeemed himself with a rebound goal that propelled Liverpool to their inaugural victory of the season. Meanwhile, Alexis Mac Allister experienced a challenging home debut, receiving a red card during the match.

Bournemouth, having already faced a disallowed goal due to an offside Jaidon Anthony, swiftly capitalized within three minutes as Antoine Semenyo elegantly placed the ball into the bottom corner after Liverpool lost possession.

In a whirlwind first half, Jurgen Klopp’s squad gradually found their momentum, notching two goals in just an eight-minute window. Luis Diaz executed an impressive equalizer by artfully controlling Diogo Jota’s low cross, deftly lifting the ball, spinning, and volleying it into the net.

The newly-signed Dominik Szoboszlai then went down in the penalty area following a challenge by Joe Rothwell, leading to a penalty kick. Despite Bournemouth’s goalkeeper Neto deflecting Salah’s initial penalty, the Egyptian striker capitalized on the rebound to secure a goal.

Alexis Mac Allister, faced difficulty in his home debut as he received a direct red card in the second half after a contact incident involving Ryan Christie’s foot.

Despite playing with a diminished lineup of 10 players, Liverpool achieved a third goal as Szoboszlai’s low shot was deflected by Neto, enabling Jota to efficiently strike from close range.
