Chelsea’s midfielder, Cesare Casadei, has successfully secured a loan move to Championship team Leicester City for the duration of a full season.
Casadei garnered attention through his remarkable display in the Under-20 World Cup for Italy, aiding his nation to a runner-up position. Notably, he earned both the Golden Ball and the Golden Boot titles, amassing an impressive tally of seven goals in seven matches.
Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, co-sporting directors, expressed their thoughts on the move. They emphasized that this loan arrangement presents an ideal opportunity for Cesare to continue evolving as a promising and young football talent. They eagerly anticipate witnessing his performance under the guidance of Enzo Maresca at Leicester, looking ahead to his ongoing journey.
At the age of 20, Casadei joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022 following his transfer from Inter Milan. Prior to his loan departure to Reading in January, he was a consistent presence in Chelsea’s Under-21 team. During his time at Reading, he participated in 15 matches, an experience that undoubtedly equips him well for his return to the Championship with Leicester.
