Amidst the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, the National Vice Chairman for the North-West, has expressed his concerns about the rumored selection of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the former Governor of Kano State, to replace Adamu as the party’s interim Chairman.
In a letter dated July 21, addressed to the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Lukman cautioned that supporting Ganduje for this position could have negative consequences for both President Bola Tinubu and Ganduje himself.
The letter, titled “APC National Chairman: PGF should serve as the Conscience of APC,” was directed to Ganduje, President Tinubu, and members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC). Lukman also expressed unease over the possibility that APC governors, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzondimma, might be considering Ganduje as the party’s next leader, a development that deeply troubled the political figure from Kaduna.
