President Bola Tinubu, as part of his efforts to stabilize the economy, continued his consultations with influential individuals. To further this objective, he and Vice President Kashim Shettima held a meeting with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, as well as several governors, including those from Imo, Kwara, Lagos, and Ogun. Additionally, former governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state participated in the gathering.
According to Dele Alake, the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, the meeting also addressed the finalization of arrangements regarding the distribution of relief measures. These measures aimed to alleviate the impact of the removal of fuel subsidies. As part of the government’s initiatives to enhance food security in the nation, the distribution of grains and fertilizers to farmers was proposed earlier by the presidency.
