Final Batch of Lagos State Pilgrims to Return from Hajj on Thursday, July 20, 2023

The remaining group of Lagos State pilgrims who participated in the recently concluded Hajj pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will arrive in Lagos on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

It has been reported that the aircraft carrying them will depart from King AbdulAzeez International Airport, Jeddah, at 10:00 am Saudi Arabian time and 8:00 am Nigerian time.

Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, the Amir-ul-Hajj, confirmed this information on Wednesday, having obtained clearance from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the airline. The 11th and final batch, consisting of approximately 380 pilgrims, will be transported to the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja aboard a Flynas airline with the flight number XY 7678.

It is worth noting that the return journey of Lagos pilgrims commenced on July 10 with the arrival of the first batch, which was a special flight carrying 380 pilgrims comprising elderly individuals and those with medical challenges. This group arrived via a Flynas airline with the flight number XY 7656.

The Amir-ul-Hajj emphasized that the originally planned end date for the return journey, which was July 22, has now been shortened to the 20th of the month.
