Governor Dauda Lawal has conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim population of Zamfara as they commemorate the arrival of the Islamic New Year 1445.
The governor extended his wishes for a New Year abundantly blessed by Allah (SWT) for Muslims residing in the state, Nigeria, and across the globe.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal urged Muslims throughout the state to maintain unwavering dedication in their prayers. Additionally, he emphasized the significance of continuous supplication for the peace and prosperity of Zamfara.
Governor Lawal noted that, “The New Islamic Year represents the migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah. It is of great importance to Islam and Muslims.
“The migration marked the beginning of the Islamic calendar known as the Hijri calendar.
“We have a lesson to learn, hijra demonstrates that for people with faith, there is hope for ease after difficulties. Our Dear State should always be in our prayers.
“Another significance of the Hijra is that it was the occasion when Muslims of different backgrounds were united. It also symbolizes Islam’s system of brotherhood and equality.
“I want to use this opportunity to appeal to the good people of Zamfara State to unite against all forces hindering the peace and progress of our state. Happy New Islamic Year 1445.”
