The Osun State House of Assembly has approved a bill that reverts the state’s name from the “State of Osun” to “Osun State.” The name change, originally proposed in 2012 by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, has received favorable reception from the Assembly.
During the plenary session on Monday, the bill titled “Osun State Anthem, Crest and Flag Amendment Bill 2023” successfully passed its third reading. Mr. Adewale Egbedun, the Speaker of the Assembly, declared that the bill would be sent to the Governor for his approval.
