On Friday, Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, hosted a gathering of the wives of the 36 State Governors at the State House. The purpose of the meeting, as stated by Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady’s media aide, was to formally introduce and familiarize the governors’ wives with the goals and mission of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
During the gathering, the First Lady extended her congratulations to the governors’ wives for the successful conduct of the 2023 elections, which resulted in their husbands assuming office. She also reminded them of the importance of fulfilling the promises made during the elections.
Mrs. Tinubu emphasized her need for the support of the governors’ wives in reaching every corner of the country. She stressed the value of reflecting on the past to guide the present and future, and emphasized the significance of collective effort for greater and more sustainable impact.
Tinubu reassured the governors’ wives that the RHI would not interfere with their personal programs and projects. She expressed her belief that their support would make a meaningful difference.
