Super Falcons Captain Onome Ebi Denies Reports of World Cup Boycott Against Canada, Calls Training Intense and Mood Positive

Onome Ebi, the captain of the Nigerian Super Falcons, has refuted a story published by PUNCH claiming that the team is considering boycotting their opening game against Canada in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Ebi has denied the existence of any such threats from the nine-time African champions. In response, PUNCH has also denied being the source of the reports.

The Super Falcon Captain said this while speaking to thenff.com at their traning centre in Gold Coast Australia, “I have no idea where that (boycott) is coming from. We (the players) never had any such conversations as regards that; we are good with training and ready for the World Cup.”

“The sessions have been intense, motivating, and okay. The girls are in good shape, in good spirits, and ready to go. The training speaks for itself as regards the mood in camp because this is what I bargained for.

“The players are meeting up with physical and tactical aspects of training; the mood is okay.”
