Wolves Fight Back to Beat Ipswich 2-1, Leaving Relegation Looming

Wolves moved 12 points clear of Ipswich, leaving them in serious danger of relegation, after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Portman Road with just seven games left.

Substitute Pablo Sarabia made the difference, scoring his first goal in nearly five months and assisting Jorgen Strand Larsen’s late winner. Ipswich had led through Liam Delap’s 16th-minute strike but now face a tough challenge to survive, with matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle ahead. Wolves’ win also means Southampton will be relegated if they lose to Tottenham on Sunday.

Sarabia’s equalizer came just seven minutes after coming on, while his assist set up Strand Larsen for his fourth goal in three games. Delap’s goal had given Ipswich an early lead, poking in a header from Dara O’Shea, but they couldn’t hold on as relegation now seems inevitable.

Wolves, now closer to Spurs, are also eyeing a higher table finish ahead of their Europa League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt. In the first half, Ipswich’s goalkeeper Alex Palmer was penalized with an indirect free kick for handling the ball on the line after a back pass, though he was not booked for the illegal handball, as per FA regulations.
