Emery and Asensio Set for PSG Return as Villa Cruise Past 10-Man Brugge

Unai Emery and Marco Asensio will make a return to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals after Aston Villa easily overcame 10-man Club Brugge in front of Prince William.

With a 3-1 advantage from the first leg, Villa comfortably sealed their spot in the last eight with a 3-0 victory at home, thanks to two goals from second-half substitute Asensio and one from Ian Maatsen.

Asensio is on loan at Villa from PSG for the remainder of the season, but under UEFA regulations, he is allowed to play against his parent club in the Champions League.

The Spanish forward has now netted seven goals for Villa under Emery, who previously managed PSG for two seasons but never advanced beyond the round of 16.

Another Villa loanee, Marcus Rashford, made a significant contribution by assisting one of Asensio’s goals and earning the first-half foul that led to Brugge defender Kyriani Sabbe’s red card.

Prince William, a Villa supporter, was seen in the stands sporting one of the free scarves distributed by the club.
