Inter Milan Secure Champions League Quarter-Final Spot with Victory Over Feyenoord

Inter Milan secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals with a hard-fought victory over Feyenoord at San Siro Stadium. Marcus Thuram opened the scoring with a brilliant solo run into the box, curling the ball into the top corner to give Inter a 1-0 lead on the night and a commanding 3-0 advantage on aggregate.

However, Feyenoord fought back when Hakan Calhanoglu was penalized for a clumsy challenge on Jakub Moder inside the penalty area. Moder stepped up and confidently converted the spot kick, providing Feyenoord with a glimmer of hope.

Calhanoglu redeemed himself after the break, making amends for his earlier mistake by scoring a penalty of his own. This came after Thomas Beelen fouled Mehdi Taremi in the box, and Calhanoglu made no mistake from the spot to restore Inter’s two-goal cushion.

Thuram came close to increasing Inter’s lead when he fired a shot just over the crossbar, as the team looked to extend their advantage in the absence of captain Lautaro Martinez, who was on the bench for the match.

With the victory, Simone Inzaghi’s side booked a clash with Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals as they continue their pursuit of reaching a second Champions League final in just three seasons.
