Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of highly-rated goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Czech side Slavia Prague for a reported fee of £12.5 million. The 22-year-old Czech Republic U21 international has signed a long-term contract with Spurs, committing his future to the North London club until 2031.
The move addresses a growing problem in goal for Tottenham, who have been plagued by injuries and illnesses in recent weeks. First-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is currently sidelined with an injury, while Fraser Forster missed Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle due to illness. This forced Spurs to rely on 25-year-old Brandon Austin, who made his senior debut in the defeat.
Kinsky arrives with an impressive track record, having kept 12 clean sheets in 19 Czech First League appearances this season, helping Slavia Prague to the top of the table. Known for his composure, quick reflexes, and shot-stopping ability, Kinsky is expected to compete for the starting role and strengthen Spurs’ defensive options during a crucial period of the season.
Tottenham fans will hope the addition of Kinsky provides much-needed stability at the back as the team navigates injuries and a challenging schedule in the Premier League.
