Mohamed Salah delivered another masterclass, scoring his 20th goal of the season as Liverpool cruised to a 5-0 victory over West Ham, extending their Premier League lead to eight points with a game in hand.

Arne Slot’s side sealed the win by halftime. Luis Díaz capitalized on a deflection to open the scoring, before Salah assisted Cody Gakpo and netted his milestone goal himself. Despite missing chances for a hat-trick, Salah dazzled again in the second half, dribbling from his own half to assist Diogo Jota for Liverpool’s fifth. Earlier, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s strike deflected off Max Kilman to add to West Ham’s misery.

This emphatic performance underscores Liverpool’s title ambitions, with Salah leading the charge. The Egyptian now boasts a combined 52 goals and assists this season, the most in Europe’s top leagues. Even as West Ham tried a five-man defense to contain him, Salah proved unplayable.

The only downside for Liverpool was Joe Gomez’s hamstring injury, leaving Jarrell Quansah likely to partner Virgil van Dijk against Manchester United on January 5.

For West Ham, it was a tough night. Mohamed Kudus hit the woodwork twice, and frustration boiled over at full time with boos from the home crowd. Sitting 13th, Julen Lopetegui’s side remains far from competing with England’s best.
