Bournemouth staged a dramatic late comeback to snatch a 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road, denying the hosts their first Premier League home win of the season. Dango Ouattara’s decisive strike in the 95th minute completed the turnaround, leaving Kieran McKenna’s side stunned and extending their winless home run in the top flight.

Ipswich appeared set to end an 8,264-day wait for a Premier League home victory when Conor Chaplin scored his first goal in the competition. In doing so, Chaplin achieved the rare feat of finding the net in all four tiers of English football, a testament to his remarkable rise through the leagues. His opener seemed poised to secure Ipswich a long-awaited moment of triumph.

However, Bournemouth had other ideas. Enes Unal equalized in the second half, capitalizing on a costly error from Ipswich goalkeeper Arijanet Muric. Ouattara’s cross caused chaos in the penalty area, with Unal bundling the ball home at the far post after Muric failed to deal with the delivery. Cameron Burgess’ attempted clearance came too late, leaving Ipswich to rue their defensive lapse.

The Cherries then sealed the comeback deep into stoppage time. David Brooks’ initial shot was parried by Muric, but Ouattara pounced on the rebound, firing it into the net to complete a stunning turnaround. This marked the fourth time this season Ipswich have surrendered points late at home, a worrying trend for McKenna’s side.

For Bournemouth, the win echoed their remarkable comeback against Everton earlier in the season, where they turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 victory in injury time. Andoni Iraola’s side has now won three consecutive matches, showcasing their resilience and growing momentum.

In contrast, Ipswich remain the only Premier League team yet to win at home this season. They have now gone winless in their opening eight home league games for only the second time in the club’s history, highlighting the challenges McKenna faces in stabilizing his side in the top flight.
