Dominant Milan Crush Sassuolo 6-1 to Cruise into Coppa Italia Quarterfinals

AC Milan put on a masterclass in the Coppa Italia Round of 16, dismantling Sassuolo 6-1 in a dominant display at the San Siro. The Rossoneri’s attacking firepower, led by Samuel Chukwueze, overwhelmed their opponents and secured a comfortable passage to the quarterfinals.

Chukwueze was the star of the show, igniting the game with a sensational first-half brace. The Nigerian winger opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a composed finish before doubling his tally just nine minutes later, bringing the home crowd to their feet. His dynamic performance set the tone for a relentless Milan onslaught.

Tijjani Reijnders added the second goal in the 17th minute, and Rafael Leão further extended the lead to 4-0 by the 23rd minute, leaving Sassuolo shell-shocked. The dominance continued after the break, with captain Davide Calabria finding the net in the 56th minute and Tammy Abraham sealing the rout five minutes later with a clinical strike.

Sassuolo’s lone bright moment came in the 59th minute when Samuele Mulattieri scored a consolation goal, but it did little to dent Milan’s control of the match.

The statistics underscored Milan’s superiority: they enjoyed 71% possession, completed 708 passes at an impressive 91% accuracy, and registered 15 shots, eight of which were on target. In contrast, Sassuolo managed just 301 passes at 80% accuracy and only four attempts on goal.

The emphatic victory not only highlighted Milan’s attacking depth but also reaffirmed their intent to compete on all fronts this season.
