The stalemate in Kayseri was earned the hard way, as Bellamy’s side weathered a barrage of Turkish attacks and embodied the resilience he had demanded before kick-off. Turkey dominated possession, territory, and chances but were frustrated by countless Welsh blocks and defensive heroics.
Wales had their moments, too. Harry Wilson struck the woodwork, and Jordan James saw a first-half goal ruled out for offside after a VAR check. The game also saw a worrying clash of heads between Joe Rodon and Harris, which required extended treatment. Both players continued—Harris sporting a bruised eye and Rodon donning a headband—but they nearly played a decisive role in the closing stages.
