Late Goal Secures Libya’s 1-0 Triumph Over Rwanda in Kigali Thriller

Libya clinched a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali, with Fahd Saad Mohamed’s late goal breaking the deadlock and delivering a crucial win for his side. Both teams battled intensely throughout the match, creating several opportunities but struggling to convert them into goals.

Rwanda showed attacking intent from the start, with Innocent Nshuti coming close on multiple occasions. Despite his best efforts, Nshuti was repeatedly denied by Libyan goalkeeper Bader Hassan, whose skillful saves kept Rwanda at bay and preserved the scoreline. Libya also faced challenges breaking through Rwanda’s defense, as both sides seemed evenly matched in midfield and hesitant to give any ground.

The turning point came in the 84th minute when Mohamed found himself unmarked in Rwanda’s penalty area. Nour aldin Al Qulaib spotted the opportunity and delivered a precise pass, allowing Mohamed to slot the ball past Rwanda’s Thierry Manzi, finally putting Libya on the scoreboard.

With this win, Libya moved up to four points in Group D, though they remain in the bottom position due to previous results. Rwanda, on the other hand, stays in third place with five points, but the loss marks a setback in their pursuit of a higher standing in the group.
