Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham have reportedly submitted legal notices to reserve their right to seek compensation if Manchester City is found to have violated Premier League financial regulations. These clubs have taken this step now to ensure they don’t miss the opportunity to claim compensation, fearing that waiting for the final verdict in the case might cause them to fall outside the statute of limitations.
Manchester City was charged with 115 alleged breaches of Premier League rules in February of the previous year, a series of charges the club has consistently denied. An independent commission began hearing the case on September 16th at the International Dispute Resolution Centre in London, with proceedings expected to last around 10 weeks.
Given the complexity of the case, no final decision is expected until the New Year, leaving the clubs involved in the dispute waiting for the outcome that could have significant financial and competitive implications.
