Celtic Impress with 3-1 Victory Over RB Leipzig, Kuhn Shines in Back-to-Back Home Wins

Nicolas Kuhn delivered a standout performance, scoring twice to lead Celtic to a convincing 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig, marking their second consecutive Champions League home win this season. The Hoops demonstrated that their poor showing in Dortmund was merely an outlier, taking confidence from their recent draw against Atalanta to shock Leipzig, who currently sit second in the Bundesliga.

The visitors initially took the lead through a well-placed header by Christophe Baumgartner, briefly silencing the Parkhead crowd. But Kuhn soon lifted Celtic spirits, first curling a superb shot in off the post to equalize, then doubling his tally with a powerful finish from Greg Taylor’s cross just before halftime.

With the atmosphere at Parkhead electric, Reo Hatate capitalized on a Leipzig defensive error, smashing in a rebound after keeper Peter Gulacsi failed to handle Alistair Johnston’s cross. That goal effectively sealed the win for Celtic, despite Daizen Maeda having a late strike disallowed for offside in stoppage time.

Now sitting on seven points from four games, Celtic have positioned themselves well in the group, while RB Leipzig remain without a single point as the competition progresses.
