The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially announced the schedule for the semi-finals and final of the Spanish Super Cup, which will take place at the King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This prestigious tournament will bring together four of Spain’s top football clubs in January for an exciting series of matches.
FC Barcelona will face Athletic Club de Bilbao in the second semi-final on Thursday, 9 January, with kick-off set for 8pm CET (10pm local time). Should Barcelona overcome Athletic Club, they will secure a spot in the final on Sunday, 12 January, also scheduled for 8pm CET (10pm local time). Barcelona earned their place in the Spanish Super Cup after finishing as runners-up in La Liga during the 2023/24 season, while Athletic Club qualified by winning last season’s Copa del Rey.
The first semi-final will see reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid take on Copa del Rey runners-up Real Mallorca on Wednesday, 8 January, at 8pm CET (10pm local time). Both Real Madrid and Barcelona will be looking to add to their impressive trophy collections, but they will face tough competition from their respective opponents in what promises to be a thrilling edition of the Super Cup.
With the tournament being held in Saudi Arabia for another year, the Spanish Super Cup continues its tradition of bringing Spanish football to an international stage. Fans from around the world will be watching closely to see who will lift the trophy in this highly anticipated event.
