As the Federal Government approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, announced on Saturday that state government workers would receive a higher wage of N73,000. Aiyedatiwa made this declaration during the launch of his campaign in Ondo town, ahead of the November 16 governorship election.

The governor, who is running for re-election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), urged supporters to convert their backing into votes to ensure the continuation of developmental projects in the state. He highlighted his administration’s achievements in agriculture, infrastructure, and healthcare, emphasizing efforts to improve food production and retain doctors through better salaries and allowances.

State APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, and campaign Director General, Abiola Makinde, echoed the governor’s call for strong voter turnout to maintain APC leadership in the state.
