Cole Palmer has been named the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for September 2024, following a string of outstanding performances that have propelled him to the top of the Premier League’s goal-scoring charts. The official announcement, made on Friday via the EPL website, highlighted Palmer’s dominance during the month, where he led the league in goals and goal involvements, netting five goals and providing one assist in just four matches.

Palmer’s most memorable moment came in Chelsea’s emphatic 6-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, where he made history by becoming the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half of a match. His remarkable four-goal haul, achieved in just 21 minutes, demonstrated his clinical finishing and ability to thrive under pressure, earning him a permanent place in the record books.

In addition to his spectacular performance against Brighton, Palmer continued to make his mark throughout September. He assisted Chelsea’s equalizing goal in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace and added another goal in the Blues’ commanding 3-0 win over West Ham United. These contributions solidified his case for the Player of the Month honor.

This marks Palmer’s second Player of the Month award, his first coming in April 2024, highlighting his growing consistency as one of the Premier League’s standout players. In fact, he has now won two of the last three monthly awards, underscoring his impressive form in 2024.

Palmer secured the award after topping an eight-man shortlist, with the final decision based on a combination of a public vote on the EA SPORTS website and the input of a panel of football experts. The 22-year-old is off to a strong start in October as well, providing an assist in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest. He currently leads the Premier League with 11 goal involvements this season and will look to extend his tally when Chelsea face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, October 20.
