The Taraba State Government has officially unveiled the newly renamed and remodeled Taraba Government House, now known as TY Danjuma House, in honor of General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd). The decision to rename the government house was made as a gesture of appreciation for Danjuma’s outstanding contributions to both the state and the nation.
Alhaji Aminu Alkali, the Deputy Governor of Taraba and Chairman of the organizing committee for the event, explained that the renaming was a way to recognize and celebrate Danjuma’s exceptional role in the development of Taraba. He emphasized that the elder statesman’s efforts in nation-building and his continuous contributions to the growth of the state were deserving of such a prestigious honor.
At the inauguration ceremony of the remodeled government house, which took place on Friday, Danjuma expressed his gratitude to the state governor for the recognition. He described the honor as a significant morale booster, which would encourage him to continue his efforts in bringing further development to Taraba.
In his remarks, Danjuma also called for unity among the people of Taraba, urging them to put aside political, tribal, and religious differences to support the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas. He stressed that a united and peaceful state would enable the government to implement policies and initiatives that would benefit all citizens.
