On Thursday, the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, officially inaugurated six newly appointed judges to the state’s high court. The judges, who took their oaths at a ceremony held in the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office in Akure, are Justices Adebisi Daomi, Adeola Adegoroye, Justinah Kpemi, Happiness Demehin-Ogunbayo, Wumi Fabuluje, and Idowu Ogunwumiju.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of the occasion, describing it as a pivotal moment in the continued development of the judiciary and the administration of justice in Ondo State. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and preserving the independence of the judiciary. Addressing the newly appointed judges, Aiyedatiwa urged them to execute their duties with “diligence, sobriety, courage, and the fear of God.”
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, also praised the governor for his steadfast respect for the judiciary. Ajulo highlighted the governor’s consistent dedication to ensuring the judiciary is well-supported, stressing that Aiyedatiwa’s policies have contributed significantly to the improved efficiency of the state’s justice system. He further emphasized the essential collaboration between the judiciary, the legal profession, the executive, and the legislature.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Justice Williams Daomi expressed their collective commitment to upholding the integrity and standards of the judiciary. He assured the people of Ondo State that the new judges would diligently perform their duties and work in harmony with their peers to enhance the delivery of justice in the state.
