Ondo State PDP governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi, has criticized the ruling APC, stating that the state has suffered under its leadership for the past eight years. He pledged to rescue the state from poverty, insecurity, and deprivation, promising that his four-year term would feel like 12 years of progress.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos, Ajayi accused Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa and the APC candidate of failing to deliver on their promises. He emphasized that governance should prioritize the safety and welfare of the people, a principle he claimed the APC had neglected.
Ajayi outlined his vision to transform Ondo State, focusing on modern infrastructure, agriculture, industrialization, education, healthcare, and security. He also promised free primary and secondary education, a 30% reduction in tuition fees for tertiary institutions, and improved healthcare with at least one primary health center per ward.
The PDP candidate also urged INEC and security agencies to ensure free and fair elections in the upcoming November 16 gubernatorial vote. He vowed to grant full autonomy to local governments and prioritize youth and women development.
Dr. Eddy Olafeso, Director General of Ajayi’s campaign, described him as a leader committed to fighting poverty and hopelessness, while the state PDP chairman, Bakita Bello, claimed the party was gaining momentum with defections from the APC.
