The Lagos State Government has implemented a robust traffic management plan to ensure smooth traffic flow along the Lekki-Ajah corridor in anticipation of the Dangote refinery’s upcoming operations. This strategy aims to prevent congestion as refined petrol begins distribution to outlets starting on Sunday.
Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Transportation, outlined the initiative in a statement on Saturday, emphasizing the government’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding residents’ well-being and maintaining efficient traffic control. Giwa stressed that the new measures were designed to mitigate potential disruptions as the refinery begins operations.
To manage the anticipated increase in vehicular movement, Giwa revealed that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has been equipped with advanced technology and additional resources. Trained personnel will be strategically deployed to critical points within the Lekki-Ajah corridor, ensuring swift responses to any emerging traffic challenges.
In his address, Giwa reassured residents and commuters in the Lekki-Ajah area that meticulous preparations had been undertaken to minimize inconveniences. He urged the public to remain calm and confident in the state government’s capacity to maintain order and ensure smooth traffic flow during this period of increased activity.
