The Federal Government has announced that Monday, September 16, 2024, will be observed as a public holiday in honor of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Friday.
In his message, the minister congratulated the Muslim community on the occasion and encouraged them to take advantage of the period to offer prayers for lasting peace and greater prosperity in the nation.
He also called on Muslims and all Nigerians to embrace values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience, urging everyone to work together for the betterment of the country.
