Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly signed a new three-year contract with the Premier League club, putting an end to speculation about his future. The news, widely covered on Thursday, brings stability to the Gunners as Arteta had entered the final year of his previous contract.

Arteta, 42, has been at the helm of Arsenal since 2019, steering the club to back-to-back second-place finishes in the Premier League. Despite the looming uncertainty over his contract, Arteta maintained last month that he was focused on the transfer window and urged patience regarding his contract discussions.

The new agreement comes just ahead of Arsenal’s highly anticipated Premier League clash with their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Arteta, who previously served as an assistant coach at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, took over from Unai Emery at Arsenal. A former player for the Gunners himself, Arteta quickly made an impact, winning the FA Cup in his first season. Under his guidance, Arsenal has once again become serious contenders for the Premier League title, engaging in thrilling title races with Manchester City over the past two seasons.

Currently sitting fourth in the Premier League standings with two wins and a draw, Arsenal are preparing for their Champions League opener against Atalanta next week.
