Five Edo Gubernatorial Candidates Withdraw, Endorse APC’s Okpebholo Ahead of Election

With less than three weeks until the Edo governorship election, five candidates have withdrawn from the race to back the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo. During a press conference in Benin City, the candidates expressed their support for Okpebholo, citing his vision and leadership qualities, which they believe make him the best choice to drive development in the state.

In addition to the candidates, five political party chairmen have also publicly endorsed the APC candidate. Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Sam Arase of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) emphasized the importance of education and praised Okpebholo’s commitment to improving underdeveloped schools if elected governor.

The candidates who endorsed the APC include Bishop Akhalameh of the Zenith Labour Party, Ugiagbe Sylvester of the Allied Peoples Movement, and Akhimie Kingson of the Action Democratic Party.

In response, Senator Okpebholo thanked the candidates for their support and pledged to lead an inclusive government, promising to fulfill every aspect of his manifesto and transform the state into a hub of development.
