The Federal Government has implemented strategies to revive neglected water projects nationwide to guarantee the provision of clean water for citizens.
Mr. Joseph Utsev, Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation, made this announcement following a two-day inspection of water projects in Osun State.
During his visit, the minister toured the Ilesa water dam in Kajola and the Ife water dam in Ogudu. Accompanied by Osun State Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr. Sunday Oroniyi, Utsev also emphasized the government’s commitment to completing ongoing water projects.
In a statement to the press at the Ilesa dam, Utsev mentioned that his inspection tour would cover water project sites across the southwestern states over three days.
He added that, following his nationwide tour of water and other project sites, he plans to implement measures to ensure Nigerians receive value for the funds invested in projects under the ministry’s supervision.
