On Wednesday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio officially opened the newly renovated National Defence College Officers’ Mess in Abuja, urging officers to uphold professionalism and commitment in their roles.
According to a statement from Anietie Ekong, Special Assistant to the Senate President on Media/Communication, Akpabio highlighted that the facility will be a key center for strategic discussions and enhancing unity among the armed forces. He praised those involved in realizing the project, particularly the Commandant and his team, and noted that the Federal Government, under President Bola Tinubu, continues to demonstrate strong support for the military.
Rear Admiral O. M. Olotu, Commandant of the National Defence College, stated that the Officers’ Mess is designed for relaxation and reflects the support provided to the armed forces. He acknowledged Senator Akpabio’s longstanding patronage and significant contribution to the College in establishing this important facility.
