Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, has endorsed Kamala Harris for the Democratic presidential nomination. Obama made the endorsement during a speech to party supporters on Tuesday, praising Harris with his renowned oratory skills.

The endorsement comes as Obama is set to honor outgoing President Joe Biden, who served as his vice president for eight years. Although Obama has remained relatively low-profile since leaving office in January 2017, he continues to be a highly influential figure on the political left.

Obama, elected as the first Black U.S. president in 2008 and re-elected in 2012, is supporting Harris, who has already made history as the first female, Black, and Asian American vice president. If elected, Harris would further break new ground as the first female U.S. president.

As the campaign nears its final stages, the Democratic Party is hopeful that Obama’s endorsement will boost Harris’s momentum. She is scheduled to deliver a speech at the convention on Thursday night.
