Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have reportedly struck a deal for Joao Felix, as Todd Boehly continues his spending spree.
Negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing for over a week, with the transfer now in its ‘final stages.’ The remaining detail is the payment structure. Felix has agreed to personal terms with Chelsea and is eager to return to Stamford Bridge. The Portuguese forward is set to sign a six-year contract, extending to June 2030, with an option for an additional year.
Chelsea will pay approximately £40 million for Felix, which is half the amount quoted for a permanent transfer just a year ago.
Felix previously had a mixed loan spell at Chelsea during the second half of the 2022-23 season, scoring four goals in 16 Premier League matches and receiving a red card on his debut in a 2-1 loss to Fulham.
