On Thursday, Lagos State Government officially launched the Lagos Revenue Portal (LRP), a comprehensive automated platform designed to streamline the collection of all state taxes and levies. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led the unveiling of the new system, which integrates various revenue collection methods into a unified digital framework.

The LRP is an advancement from the previous Electronic Banking System of Revenue Cycle Management (EBS-RCM). This modernized portal aims to simplify and enhance the efficiency of Lagos’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) processes. By consolidating multiple revenue channels, the portal promises improved management, accountability, and transparency in revenue collection.

Sanwo-Olu described the introduction of the LRP as a transformative step for the state, highlighting its potential to bolster Lagos’s standing among leading smart cities. The governor emphasized that the new system addresses previous inefficiencies and barriers in revenue generation, ensuring better capacity and effectiveness in managing state finances. He called on the public and revenue stakeholders to fully embrace the innovation, which is intended to prevent revenue leakage and promote a more transparent and accountable fiscal environment.
