Real Madrid’s midfield star Eduardo Camavinga will be sidelined for the UEFA Super Cup clash against Atalanta and a significant portion of the upcoming season due to a knee injury. The 21-year-old French international sustained the injury during a training session at Warsaw National Stadium on Tuesday. Camavinga twisted his knee after catching his studs in the ground and colliding with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni.
Scans have revealed that he has sprained the collateral ligament in his left knee. Although Real Madrid has not provided a specific recovery timeline, reports suggest that Camavinga could be out for up to seven weeks. This injury comes after a standout season for Camavinga, who made 46 appearances across all competitions, helping Real Madrid secure both the La Liga title and the Champions League.
