Prominent social media critic, Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has harshly criticized Folashade Tinubu, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, for her recent remarks urging Nigerians to give her father three years in office before judging his performance.

In her statement, Folashade called for public patience and advised against participating in the upcoming hunger protest scheduled from August 1 to 10.

Responding in a video released on Monday, VeryDarkMan condemned Folashade’s comments, accusing her of ignoring the severe economic hardships Nigerians are facing under her father’s administration. He highlighted that the first year of Tinubu’s presidency has been marked by economic difficulties and a significant increase in fuel prices.

“People wouldn’t be complaining if your father’s first year in office wasn’t the worst in Nigeria’s presidential history,” VeryDarkMan asserted.

He urged Folashade to convince her father to address the escalating economic problems and prevent further deterioration. He also recalled Tinubu’s past protests against fuel price hikes during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure, suggesting that similar protests are now warranted due to the current administration’s policies.

While condemning any potential violence during the protests, VeryDarkMan emphasized the importance of standing up for economic rights.

“Warn your father, tell him that Nigerians are suffering. Talk to Daddy for us. Did you caution your dad when he protested against Goodluck Jonathan for raising the fuel price from N65 to N87? The only thing I won’t support is violence during protests. Stand for your rights, Nigerians. Protest, but don’t loot. Look at the prices of things. Fuel is over N700, and it’s still not available. See the queues at gas stations. You can’t increase prices and still have shortages,” he added.
