The Nigerian Super Eagles have been drawn with the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in the same group for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which start in two months.
Their World Cup qualifying rematch isn’t until the final day of the qualification series (6th-14th October 2025), but they will face each other much sooner as they both strive to be among the 24 teams competing in the 35th Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, from 21st December 2025 to 18th January 2026.
During the draw ceremony at the SuperSport studio in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Thursday afternoon, the Super Eagles were also grouped with the Amavubi of Rwanda and the Mediterranean Knights of Libya, both of whom are in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group.
The six-match qualifying series will be played during the FIFA windows in September, October, and November, with two matches scheduled in each seven-day window.
