President Tinubu Extends Birthday Wishes to UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed

President Bola Tinubu congratulated the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ms. Amina Mohammed, as she celebrated her 63rd birthday.

Ms. Mohammed, renowned for her advocacy for the environment, education, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has dedicated herself to serving Nigeria and the global community in various roles.

She coordinated the Taskforce on Gender and Education for the United Nations Millennium Project from 2002 to 2005 and has contributed significantly on numerous international advisory boards and panels.

As Nigeria’s Minister of Environment from 2015 to 2017, she is credited with mobilizing stakeholders to launch the Ogoniland clean-up and other governance innovations.

In a statement by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday, President Tinubu celebrated Ms. Mohammed as a global icon and one of Nigeria’s leading figures, commending her tireless service and exemplary role in promoting prosperity, peace, and safety for humanity.

The President described Ms. Mohammed as a fine example of Nigerian excellence and a worthy model for people worldwide. He wished her many more years of good health and renewed strength in her continued service to humanity
