The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has called on Nigerians to pray for their leaders at all levels of government.
During the Eid-el-Kabir prayer on Sunday, attended by Sokoto State’s deputy governor, Alhaji Mohammed Gobir, Sultan Abubakar delivered a Sallah message urging Muslims to adhere to the teachings of Eid-el-Kabir.
“We should use this period of worship to pray for our leaders. As leaders, we will not tire of urging citizens to keep praying for our country. Therefore, we must continue to offer prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, and prosperity.
“We should always express gratitude to Almighty Allah for His blessings and the gift of life that allows us to celebrate this significant occasion. Supporting and praying for our leaders will aid our country’s progress.
“Our security agencies deserve appreciation and encouragement for their ongoing efforts and dedication to addressing our current challenges,” he said.
Meanwhile, residents of Gwiwa Eka, a suburb of Sokoto metropolis, have praised Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for his generous donation of a cow for their Sallah celebration.
