The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, extended heartfelt congratulations and commendations to the troops of the Nigerian Army and their families on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, he praised their dedication and bravery in tackling the nation’s security challenges.
The COAS described Eid-el-Kabir as a significant festival highlighting the importance of sacrifice in both human and divine aspects.
He expressed gratitude for the restored peace in many previously troubled areas, acknowledging the significant sacrifices made by the Nigerian Army in terms of human and logistical resources in the fight against terrorism, insurgency, banditry, secessionist agitations, and various other crimes.
General Lagbaja noted that Nigerian Army troops have shown unwavering loyalty, extraordinary courage, and faith in the nation, achieving victories despite grave dangers.
He emphasized that many soldiers bear the marks of courage and bravery through battle scars and injuries, while others carry the memories and stories of their sacrifices for the country.
The COAS called for collective understanding and support for the government’s efforts to implement necessary reforms to restore economic prosperity.
He also urged all Nigerian Army personnel and their families to renew their commitment to selflessness and patriotism for the growth and development of the country, reaffirming his dedication to providing visionary and inclusive leadership for effective training, improved living standards, and operational effectiveness.
